The Bonsai Bear by Bernard Libster

A wonderful children’s book about a childless couple who adopt a young bear cub. The “father” doesn’t want it to ever grow up, so he “bonsais” it by binding it with strands of his wife’s hair. The story stresses being allowed to be oneself, and the love that exists between parent and child. A great way to share a lesson and a bonsai story at the same time!
